Well first of all what tool(s) do you use? Also what program do you use? I use Photoshop and I either use the background eraser(completely eliminates the background,the drawback however is it works better with solid color backgrounds) but I mainly use the magnet lasso tool. It generally helps me get a cleaner extraction. I also clean it up by erasing the unnecessary parts(extra parts of background) when needed.
I would suggest slowing down and taking your time with extracting. Also renders are a big help in this area. They're already pre-extracted graphics and they work best in most graphics.

This is pretty good. I would suggest however using higher quality images. Other than that it's very beautiful. Also take your time when you extract your images,the extraction is a bit too rough. It should be smoother. I'm just trying to help. Other than that it is very nice.
